Air Shower is a self-contained chamber that minimizes particulate matter from entering or exiting the cleanroom and other controlled environments.
Personnel and materials entering or exiting the controlled environment are “scrubbed” by high-velocity HEPA- or ULPA-filtered air. This removes dust, fibrous lint, and other contaminants from personnel or object surfaces. Contaminated air is then drawn through the base within the unit, filtered and recirculated. When properly integrated into the design of the cleanroom, air showers provide an ISO classified transition area ensuring cleanroom cleanliness is maintained.
This “gowning” process disturbs and releases contaminants from street clothes that can settle onto cleanroom garments. Air showers remove the contaminants. This procedure helps to maintain cleanroom standards and helps to lower operating costs. This procedure helps to maintain cleanroom standards and helps to lower operating costs. The decontamination procedure in the air shower means cleaner air enters the cleanroom, reducing product defects and increasing production yields.
